‘I’ll stare down the ISIS killers’

-

THE brother of a Scot murdered by Islamic State says he is prepared to face the jihadis responsible as they are sentenced for being part of a terrorist hit squad.

David Haines was kidnapped in Syria and executed in a terrorist act that shocked the world in 2014.

The 44-year-old aid worker, from Perth, was killed by a man known as Jihadi John. Now his brother says he is prepared to stare down the terrorists when he comes face-to-face with the group, dubbed The Beatles due to their English accents, later this week.

Mike Haines is in the US to read a victim impact statement as Londoner Alexanda Kotey is sentenced for his role in the terror cell’s murder of four hostages.

Mr Haines, an RAF veteran and former mental health nurse from Dundee, said: ‘I am looking forward to staring them in the face, to drawing a line behind what has happened.’
