Keep surgeries open

AT THE annual conference of local medical committees next month, GPs are going to vote on the proposal to reduce practice opening hours. Instead of 8am to 6.30pm, it will be 9am to 5pm. What a joke! Getting an appointment is already almost impossible, so heaven help us if the hours are reduced.

We wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for Tony Blair’s over-generous contract with GPs.

HOW can GPs possibly say they will provide a better, safer service if their working hours are reduced?

The only ones to benefit will be the doctors.
