Snapper bashed by Brando dies at 91
HE was credited with changing celebrity culture with his relentless pursuit of stars in the 1960s.
Ron Galella, known as the ‘Godfather of the US paparazzi culture’, has died aged 91.
Galella was issued with a restraining order after persistently targeting Jacqueline Kennedy, and reportedly had his tyres slashed by Elvis Presley’s bodygaurds. He also had a run-in with another Godfather, Marlon Brando, pestering him so much that the actor broke his jaw with a punch in 1973. Galella wore an American football helmet around Brando thereafter.
