Vote about cuts, not cake

-

I HOPe those voting on Thursday remember they are local elections.

They’re about the already poor and declining state of our roads, education and waste collection.

It is undeniable that as council services decrease, council tax increases after years of the SNPs false freeze. My own council has seen cuts of £217million.

Thursday is all about Nicola Sturgeon’s budget cuts not Boris’s birthday cake. Vote accordingly. PHIL JOHNSON, Bishopton,

Renfrewshire. IF THe SNP wins more seats, Nicola Sturgeon will declare this as a mandate for independence.

We will all lose if we have to face another four years of Holyrood running local councils into the ground. ALLAN THOMPSON, Bearsden,

Glasgow.
