Chicago Fire poised to take Hibs’ Mueller back Stateside

- MARK WILSON

CHICAGO FIRE are working on a deal to take Hibernian winger Chris Mueller back to the MLS. Formerly with Orlando City, Mueller signed a pre-contract when Jack Ross was Easter Road boss and formally moved to Leith in January during Shaun Maloney’s short tenure. The 25-year-old has been unable to make much impact amid the managerial upheaval and could now be poised to head back across the Atlantic. Reports in America claim Chicago are confident of tying up an agreement to end his short stay in Scotland. Meanwhile, Hibs owner Ron Gordon is set to jet in to accelerate the Leith club’s search for a new manager after Maloney’s swift exit.
