Give doctors a break

-

Do the people who complain about their GP (Letters) have any idea how hard they work?

It’s been reported staffing is at an all-time low and each doctor has to look after thousands of patients.

throughout the pandemic, they worked non-stop, doing their best under difficult rules and regulations.

they did not refuse to see patients; they were told not to unless under extreme circumstances to minimise the risk for themselves so they could continue working and limit the spread of the virus. the fact the vaccines were rolled out so quickly was because doctors and nurses worked long hours to achieve this.

HELEN MOHR, Box, Wilts.

MY local surgery has been great right through lockdown and beyond.

Receptionists, nurses and doctors are helpful, efficient and polite. Yes, sometimes the phone lines are busy, but when I called last week, I was able to see my GP that afternoon. She didn’t rush my appointment and I felt listened to and cared for.
