Awkward! I’m in the same dress as the queen

- By David Wilkes

IT can be difficult turning up at a big event to discover someone else is wearing the same outfit.

So spare a thought for this law professor who found she was in an identical black and white dress to the queen of Spain while receiving an award from her.

Luckily, they both saw the funny side and were seen embracing at the ceremony as they laughed about their shared taste in frocks.

The winner in the matching dress was Inmaculada Vivas Teson, who was receiving an award from Queen Letizia for her work in support of disability rights.

Letizia, 49, wife of King Felipe VI,

‘She’s also a fan of affordable fashion’

was on a visit to Merida in western Spain to present the awards.

Both women were wearing a striking bicolour belt dress with a slit up the front by the Spanish fashion brand Mango, matched with black stilettos. The dress costs £59.99 on the company’s UK website.

Queen Letizia, a former TV journalist, is known for her glamorous style but while she wears luxury brands on grand occasions, she is also a fan of affordable fashion.

Last month Prince Charles, 7 , looked enraptured as he kissed the queen on the hand during a visit to open a gallery with her at Auckland Castle in County Durham.
