I ‘forgot’ I had husband and kids

-

A CYCLIST has told how she had no memory of her husband and children after suffering a serious head injury when she was hit by a car.

Emma Feesey, 49, from Edinburgh, did not know she was married with two daughters when she regained consciousness and had forgotten how to do tasks such as using a mobile phone.

She was knocked off her bike while cycling home from work in Livingston, West Lothian, in August 2017 and although she was wearing a helmet she suffered bleeding around the brain. Despite feeling physically well when she woke up, Mrs Feesey, above, at first had no memories of husband Colin, 49, or daughters Rosa and Zora, now 26 and 24.

She said: ‘I was asked if I was married and I didn’t know. I was asked if I had children and, again, had no idea.’

Her memory gradually came back but she has retired on medical grounds from her job as a criminal justice social worker. The car driver was not prosecuted.
