Just entertain us
AFTER a hard day’s work, I used to look forward to settling down to an evening of entertaining TV.
Now we are fed a stream of dramas that consist of issues to ‘raise awareness’, most often about physical or mental health matters, but also crime, drug dealing and violence.
The BBC and ITV could learn from the Australian soap Neighbours, which will be missed for its light entertainment without the gloomy fare we are usually treated to.

APART from the odd drama, the
BBC and ITV show endless soaps, game shows, cooking programmes and sport. What a cheap way to fill the schedules.
