HOYLAND IS BACK TO PLAY HIS PART FOR EDINBURGH

- SEAN VINCENT

DAMIEN Hoyland is aiming to banish a frustrating period on the sidelines by helping hometown club Edinburgh enjoy a stunning end to the season. The 28-year-old winger — who has agreed a new deal to stay on at the DAM Health Stadium for next term — feared his campaign was over when he sustained a serious knee injury against Benetton in December. But he returned to action in last Saturday’s 16-10 defeat at home to Ulster and is now in the frame for a rousing finale to the season. ‘I was ready to accept my season was done, so to be in contention for selection with a few vital games to come, it’s huge,’ said Hoyland ahead of Saturday’s Euro quarter-final with visitors Wasps. ‘Everyone dreams about playing in these games so I’m buzzing.’
