Spiders keep Pars in a play-off sweat

-

JOHN Hughes’ Pars have work to do to retain their place in the Championship after a stalemate in the first leg of their play-off semi-final with Queen’s Park at Firhill. Both sides go into Saturday’s return at East End Park with everything to play for, with either Airdrie or Montrose awaiting the winners. Spiders keeper Calum Ferrie kept out Kevin O’Hara’s 18th-minute attempt.

Pars No 1 Jakub Stolarczyk then denied Jake Davidson shortly after the break. Ferrie fielded Josh Edwards’ 59th-minute header and then pushed away O’Hara’s strike as the Pars responded. Substitute Simon Murray sent an 82nd-minute freekick high over for Queen’s.
