We were flirting. I was confident enough to make the first move

-

DATING PAST?

My longest relationship was for two-and-a-half years, and I’ve been single for six months.

I’ve never been married, but I would like kids. I’m aware I will probably have to be disciplined and force myself to make time for someone during the week (unlikely to be every day at first).

I perhaps don’t prioritise a new romance in the early stages because of my job, but that could change with the right person.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

I would have been worried if I’d had to wait for her but she arrived first, so I didn’t have time to think. I wore dark-blue trousers with a shirt and blazer.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

I was pleasantly surprised. Rachel is a pretty girl, with a happy personality. she was warm, smiley and such a good laugh.

EASY TO TALK TO?

yes, and it helps that we’re both chatty people — the date went incredibly well. Rachel is outgoing and a lot of fun.

we both like football (although she supports the wrong team) and F1 (also supports the wrong team) and we’re both sociable. we swapped numbers as we both wanted to see each other again.

she did, at one point, tell me that her party trick is using her foot to make a phone call, but she refused to demonstrate, so I’ll have to wait to find out if that’s true.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

only when the waiter dropped a drink on me.

DID SPARKS FLY?

yes, we were flirting. I felt so comfortable, I was confident enough to make the first move and ask for her number.

and after walking to the train station together, we shared a fantastic kiss.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET AGAIN?

yes, although we’re both busy so we’re just trying to work out the logistics. It would be lovely to see her again.

WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I’ve no idea, but we got on really well and she seemed relaxed.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS LIKE HER?

she’d fit in with anyone as she’s such a down-to-earth person. Interviews: ALANA KIRK

WOULD LIKE TO MEET
I VALUE intelligence, kindness, humour and ambition. My job is stressful and I would like someone to support me rather than seeing it as a barrier.
