BOSCH: LEGACY, AMAZON FREEVEE/PRIME VIDEO

MICHAEL CONNELLY’S LA cop novels are very popular in the U.S., and led to seven seasons of the brooding Amazon show Bosch, starring Lost’s Titus Welliver (pictured) as the steely-eyed police detective. In Bosch: Legacy, he’s out of the LAPD after 26 years’ service, and working as a private eye — the noirish mood of this show lends itself well to that line of work. But we still have one foot inside the police, too, as Bosch’s daughter, Maddie (Madison Lintz) has followed in his footsteps, and their banter gives this show a strong emotional core. Also reprising her role is Mimi Rogers as defence attorney Honey ‘Money’ Chandler, Bosch’s former adversary, whom he now ends up working for. Legacy is showing on Amazon Freevee, which is the free, ad-supported tier of Prime Video — known as IMDb TV until recently — and all of Bosch can be found on that, too. Four episodes are available today, with three double bills to follow weekly — and a second series has just been announced.
