Childhood romances that led to marriage
BOTH men married women whom they have known since they were boys. Fury was 17 when he met Paris (right), then 15, and they wed in 2008. She has supported him through his struggles with depression, OCD, alcohol and drugs.
Fury said: ‘In our culture, it is all about the men — the men can do everything, and women just clean and cook and have children and look after their man. That is our way.’
Rees-Mogg, the minister for Brexit opportunities and government efficiency, is married to heiress Helena de Chair, who was a friend of his younger sister. Helena, 45, is the only surviving child of the late aristocratic poet Somerset de Chair and heiress Lady Juliet Tadgwell.
Lady Juliet owns Bourne Park, a stately home in Kent, where Jacob proposed to Helena underneath a Van Dyck painting. The couple held their wedding at Bourne Park in 2007.
