FORGET three-course meals washed down with expensive wine – a tin of beans is fit for the future queen.

The Duchess of Cornwall has revealed her modest tastes, as she loves nothing more than Heinz beans on toast, or fish and chips wrapped in paper. In an interview with her son, food critic Tom Parker Bowles, for The Mail on Sunday’s You magazine, Camilla said she wasn’t a very ‘adventurous’ cook, adding: ‘One of my favourite foods is baked beans on toast. Always Heinz.

‘And freshly cooked fish and chips, wrapped in paper. That smell. You cannot beat proper fish and chips.’

Camilla said she learned how to cook from her mother Rosalind Shand, who ‘despaired’ at her obsession with eating frozen chicken pies on Friday nights.

The duchess admitted she has ‘never followed a recipe in my life’ and could ‘fill a book with all my cooking disasters’.
