Darling abs of May... new Larkins star at gym
SHE has admitted that she’s ‘incredibly excited’ about being cast as Mariette in the second series of ITV’s The Larkins.
And newcomer Joelle Rae was literally glowing after an hourlong workout.
The actress, 21, will replace Sabrina Bartlett, 30, as the eldest child in the new season.
She will star later this year alongside Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan, who will play her parents Pop and Ma Larkin. Miss Bartlett is said to have quit the show after an on-set row.
Just days after being cast in the role of Mariette, Miss Rae, who appeared in Netflix thriller Get Even, was seen leaving a west London gym last week.
She looked a little flushed as she wore headphones, grey leggings and a black crop top. The actress – taking on the part that launched Catherine Zeta-Jones’s career in the hit 90s adaptation of HE Bates’s novels The Darling Buds Of May – wrote online: ‘So unbelievably excited to announce that I’m taking on the notorious role of Mariette, following in the footsteps of such wonderfully talented women.’
It was reported yesterday that Miss Bartlett left The Larkins after complaining about co-star Tok Stephen, who plays Cedric ‘Charley’ Charlton, using a snap of her as his WhatsApp profile picture. A source told The Sun: ‘From that point on, there was a real tension between the two.’
