initially loathed the song Falling In Love Again, and very deliberately didn’t change the pronouns in I’ve Grown Accustomed To Her Face. To mark the 30th anniversary of her death, THE ESSAY: DIETRICH IN FIVE SONGS (RADIO 3, 10.45PM) charts the story of Marlene’s life through five of her songs. Her wartime experiences had a big impact on her performances — especially her rendition of anti-war song Where Have All The Flowers Gone.
