Hastings has all our support in his battle

BEST wishes to Scotland rugby legend Scott Hastings, who revealed at the weekend that he is battling cancer. Straight away thousands of goodwill messages poured in for the 57-year-old, who played 65 times for his country and twice for the British and Irish Lions. The response was no surprise. Hastings was immensely popular in his playing days and won even more new friends after he made the transition from pitch to commentary box, where he is an accomplished analyst. He is halfway through a series of chemotherapy for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is making good progress. Despite the treatment affecting his usually luxuriant hair, he remains in good humour and posted pictures of himself in a white wig. Hastings is one of the top men in Scottish rugby and it’s great to see the world of rugby rally round him.
