And the Oscar for most toe-curling acting goes to... Prince Hammy

Duke takes a leaf out of Meghan’s book to promote green travel

YOU might have thought that marrying a TV star would help him hone his thespian skills.

But Prince Harry has yet to match his wife Meghan’s talent for acting, it seems.

He appears in a bizarre comedy sketch to promote his latest ecotravel project in which tourists are rated on their green credentials.

Wearing a baseball cap, Apple Airpods and a T-shirt with the slogan ‘Girl Dad’ – a reference to 11-month-old daughter Lilibet – Harry jogs through a forest in what is supposed to be New Zealand but is actually California.

He is chased by two Kiwi comedians dressed as ‘ratings agents’, who assess his greenness.

They ask Harry if he knows ‘we’ invented jogging. ‘The Austral

ians?’ he replies. When his mistake is pointed out, he stiltedly tells the New Zealanders: ‘Oh, terribly sorry. I know you guys hate that.’

He adds a greeting in the Maori language: ‘Kia ora.’

They accuse Harry of dropping a sweet wrapper four years ago on his official visit to New Zealand.

He insists the wrapper is not his. When the agents go to mark his star rating with a stamp on his forearm, he says: ‘Erm, I’m not really allowed to accept stamps.’

This refers to working members of the Royal Family – Harry is no longer one – not being permitted to accept personal gifts.

The prince is at first given three stars out of five, and then three and a half as stamps on his arm – for using only one towel and for buying local honey. He is also praised for not leaving the tap running while brushing his teeth.

‘Hang on a second. How do you know that?’ Harry jokes. The ratings agents’ boss, played by Star Wars actress Rena Owen, pulls up in a van and recognises the prince, who delivers several phrases in Maori as they chat. He admits the green rating system ‘has got me thinking’ before jogging off.

Harry set up Travalyst in 2019 to help encourage both industry providers and consumers to be more environmentally friendly when it comes to travel. But he drew criticism for his own globe-trotting – that year six of the ten flights he took were by private jet.
