No pilot? No problem!

A PASSENGER with zero cockpit experience successfully landed a single engine plane after his pilot passed out.

The man, who has not been identified, told air traffic control his pilot had ‘gone incoherent’ as they flew over Florida.

He got behind the controls of the Cessna 208 Caravan and said over the radio he had ‘no idea’ where he was.

With help from ground control – and one member of the team who was a flight instructor – he managed to land the plane.

The drama unfolded as the plane was flying from the Bahamas to Florida on Tuesday. The pilot was taken to hospital and air regulators are investigating.
