SPENDING much of their time travelling the world for their corporate careers, Ine Verhaert and Helga Meersmans tried to find a stylish bag that would work with their busy lifestyles. Unable to find one which could hold a laptop, a phone, paperwork, and the other essentials every woman chucks in her bag, they decided to create their own. They founded KAAI (meaning ‘the quay’ in Dutch) in 2017 in
Antwerp, Belgium, to produce the perfect work-life bag before moving on to smaller ones. Practical, feminine and fashionable, all have sleek silhouettes and come in chic colours. Made from Italian leather and lined with velvet suede in KAAI’s signature blue hue, prices start at £213 for a belt bag to £585 for a large, shopper tote.
