Russia in retreat

THE war being waged on Ukraine by Vladimir Putin has seen his troops retreating and under fire from the brave Ukraine fighters who are winning back ground daily. From the very start of his war, Russian troops have been badly organised and poorly supported in food and fuel logistics, which is 75 per cent of any successful military operation.

Putin’s total losses of men and equipment are now substantial as he realises he completely underestimated the Ukraine fighters and the extent of their support from the Western world.

The best scenario we can hope for is that Putin will be quickly removed from office by disgruntled Russian generals and sent to the salt mines in Siberia. DENNIS FORBES GRATTAN,
