SARIN is colourless, odourless and kills quickly. It leads to respiratory paralysis, swiftly and lethally. Syria’s President Assad, aided by Vladimir Putin, used this nerve agent on his own people in 2013. Many more attacks were carried out in Syria, using hidden stockpiles of Sarin. This tense political drama, written by the historian Anthony Seldon and Craig Oliver (David Cameron’s former communications chief), outlines how a failure by the UK and the U.S. to act against Putin and Assad helped to pave the way to the invasion of Ukraine. Toby Stephens plays former PM Cameron, while the impressionist Jon Culshaw voices Oliver and several other roles.
