EVERY reality contest needs its catchphrase. For The Apprentice, it’s ‘You’re fired!’ and for Lovestruck High, it’s ‘You have been expelled!’. This show drops its romantic hopefuls into that ultimate crucible of broken hearts — the U.S. high school. All the attendees are from the UK and mostly well above school age (one is 30!), and their antics — including cheerleading, going to the prom and doing their best to avoid detention — are narrated by Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan. The comedian Ria Lina (pictured) plays head teacher Principal Nelson. It’s all so surreal as to be ridiculous, and is best enjoyed in that spirit — although there is a serious prize of $100,000 on offer for the couple ultimately crowned King and Queen of the Prom.
