Protocol counts
I’M NOT convinced about Prince William’s plan to modernise the monarchy by getting rid of formal titles and ending bowing and curtseying when he and the Duchess attend official functions. The public’s perception of the Royals would be undermined, diminishing their aura of eminence and mystique. Titles don’t need to be dispensed with in order for them to seem more approachable.
