PARS SEEK NEW BOSS AS YOGI STEPS DOWN

- IAIN COLLIN

DUNFERMLINE are searching for a new manager to lead them back to the Championship following the resignation of John Hughes. The ex-Hibs and Caley Thistle boss has stepped aside after the Pars’ relegation to League One saw him targeted by angry fans. Hughes was initially keen to make amends with a promotion push next season but, as the club conduct reviews into what went wrong, he has now decided to stand down.

With coach Steven Whittaker having also left to join Scott Brown at Fleetwood Town, the Pars will now start afresh. Chief executive David Cook said: ‘We will commence interviews with preferred candidates shortly.’ A club statement read: ‘John joined in late 2021 in difficult circumstances and the board would like to thank him for his hard work.’
