CAMASSIA LEICHTLINII

-

forQUAMASH HERE’S a bulb linking spring with summer. As tulips fade, up comes Camassia quamash. Tight clusters of green leaves develop during spring, and in May sturdy stems emerge, reaching 60 cm before the flowers open. The bulbs thrive in grass or among shrubs or plants in borders. They’re useful for planting among later-flowering perennials, bringing colour. Order the bulbs in autumn. Camassias will also grow from seed, even self-sown.
