READER’S QUESTION

-

WE HAD a pond installed last winter. It has a shallow end for birds and is planted with marginals and water weed. It looks great, but how do we stock it with wildlife?

Mr V. Reilly, shropshire. Wildlife will turn up unaided — but it takes time. Since your pond is nature-friendly, creatures will appear during summer. Water beetles, dragon flies and other aquatic insects may already have laid eggs, so keep looking.
