SOW CROP CARROTS

-

YOU can sow carrots almost all year round, but between late May and the middle of June is perfect for main crop carrots. Those will be ready from mid-to-late autumn. Then, the mature vegetables will be safe in the ground, even if left until Christmas. Late sowing can avoid carrot fly attacks — from the last week in May, chances of infestation are reduced. Carrots need well-prepared, crumbly tilth. Sow your seeds sparsely, so thinning out will be unnecessary.
