A royal welcome for Jodie’s baby

- By Eleanor Sharples TV & Radio Correspondent

SHE’S encountered many a famous friend during her travels through time and space – albeit never with a tot in tow.

But Jodie Whittaker made time for a royal appointment with Claire Foy, who played the Queen in TV drama The Crown, while out with her new baby.

The Doctor Who actress, 39, was spotted for the first time with her newborn as she enjoyed a coffee with Miss Foy.

Miss Whittaker, who also has a daughter with actor husband Christian Contreras, looked relaxed as the baby curled up in a sling on her chest.

And the actresses, who starred in the 2011 drama The Night Watch, traded their red carpet glamour for jeans and flats as they met up in north London.

Miss Whittaker hasn’t confirmed the baby’s gender or birthday but announced that she was ‘happily and healthily’ pregnant in February.

She is set to have more time to spend with her second child once she makes her final appearance as the Doctor this autumn – being replaced by Rwandan-Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa.
