For once, I hope I’m proved wrong
A NUMBER of you contacted me after last week’s column on why we shouldn’t want to win the EuroMillions lottery to say you’d be willing to give it a go anyway. Well, Joe and Jess Thwaite (pictured) have now come forward as the winners of the £184 million jackpot. The couple, from Gloucestershire, said they went public because they didn’t want to put the ‘burden’ of keeping it a secret on their friends and family, which does seem sensible. Though I hope they aren’t now overwhelmed by requests for financial help from all and sundry. They certainly seem to have their heads screwed on. I do hope they find a way to keep the life they had and enjoy the money they’ve won.
