More than coppers

I AM surprised a detective constable on a £40,000 salary claims she takes home ‘just a couple of hundred pounds more than someone flipping burgers in McDonald’s’.

The police officer earns £2,300 a month after tax, while a McDonald’s manager – who does more than flip burgers – can get £1,550.

Instead of moaning about the decent salary she enjoys, if she wants to be paid more, perhaps the detective should apply for promotion.
