Curse of the soaps
WHY take umbrage at coarse language in TV dramas (Letters) when swearing is a fact of life for many people?
It would be disingenuous to expurgate what actors say if it is in keeping with the traits of the characters they portray.
TV soaps such as EastEnders are devoid of cuss words, which invalidates their credibility, given that it would be impossible not to hear the occasional swear word among real-life market-stall holders.
If the soaps went out after the 9pm watershed, expletives would abound.
