Man who set dogs on foxes is jailed

A MAN who filmed his three dogs attacking wild animals in footage dubbed the worst seen by Scottish SPCA inspectors has been jailed for six months.

In one clip, Callum Muir, 25, could be heard laughing as a fox was fatally injured. Another film showed a fox being attacked by two dogs while a man stamped on it.

Muir’s home in Logan, Ayrshire, was raided by the SSPCA after it received a tip-off that he was keeping dogs for fighting animals. Inspectors found the dogs had suffered multiple injuries in fights.

At Ayr Sheriff Court, Muir admitted five charges under animal welfare laws. He was jailed and banned from owning and keeping animals indefinitely.
