ENGLISH Literature students have been warned that they might find Jane Austen’s work offensive. In the first of a new run of the show that challenges established ideas and questions received wisdom, the artist Grayson Perry says the warning should state, ‘this book may contain whole sentences and punctuation’. Presenter Victoria Coren Mitchell (pictured) puts up a convincing defence of these warnings, and her other guests, the comedian Desiree Burch and David Baddiel, recall how, as youngsters, they have felt shocked by a piece of prose.
