Beautiful Rivers With Richard Hammond, 9pm, More4

THE former Top Gear presenter has certainly been keeping busy this year — his sciencethemed panel game Brain Reaction has just finished on Comedy Central, and the engineering challenge Crazy Contraptions (Sunday, 11pm, Ch4) is at the semifinal stage. And now, he’s presenting this restful four-part series exploring four of the UK’s most scenic rivers — the Severn, the Test, the Clyde and the Derwent. He’ll be finding out about the historical, environmental and economic importance of the waterways, and meeting some of the characters who live and work on them — as well as taking in the lovely views. It’s something of a change of pace for Richard — but he’ll still be diving in for a spot of swimming and kayaking along the way.
