JUBILEE JOY

I’m excited! I’m getting ready For the Queen’s

Platinum Jubilee. I’ve bought half a mile

of bunting, Bells, whistles, and a tree.

As I hand over my pounds

and pennies, Her face gazes serenely out

at me And on purple stamps that

she now adorns, Her radiance is clear to see.

She bestows the royal wave From Queen-themed

shiny goods, And I will certainly do my best

to make The prize-winning Jubilee pud.

In our road, there’ll be a

street party. On the Green, beacons will

be lit. The children will wear

fancy dress, Everyone will do their bit.

And across the

United Kingdom, We recognise her constancy

and care, She always knows just what

to say, And for her people, she’s

always there.

So, raising our glasses (or cups of tea) Folks united together, We’ll salute her

gracious Majesty, With fingers crossed for

perfect weather!

Mrs Anita Bass, Theydon Bois, Essex.
