Wedding backlog boost for Fuller’s
A ‘BACKLoG of weddings’ will put Fuller’s on track for a strong summer, its boss said – despite concerns over consumer confidence.
The pub group yesterday toasted a return to profit and hailed a recent rise in sales.
Chief executive Simon Emeny said that delayed events from the past two years due to the Covid19 pandemic have put the company in a strong position for the summer.
Nevertheless, the company highlighted that market condition are challenging amid fragile consumer confidence due to rampant inflation.
The company swung back to an adjusted pretax profit of £7.2m for the year to March, compared with a £48.7m loss in the previous year.
Revenues soared to £253.8m for the year, compared with £73.2m in the previous year, when it had been particularly hammered by lockdowns.
