DAILY MAIL FOURSOMES
FORMER England hockey star Sue Holwell has won the delayed 2020 Daily Mail Foursomes women’s title for Lingdale with partner Barbara Suffolk. The Leicestershire duo were one of more than 3,000 pairs in contention for one of amateur golf’s biggest prizes and, after a 12-month Covid suspension and the postponement of the finals last October due to heavy rain, Holwell and Suffolk have their hands on the trophy after winning at Slaley Hall. Holwell, 59, who represented England at the 1986 World Cup in Holland, said: ‘We’re just thrilled. It means everything.’
