MAGNIFICENT MO IS PREMIER LEAGUE’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR
MOHAMED SALAH has been voted the Professional Footballers’ Association’s player of the year. The Liverpool winger topped the poll ahead of Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, who had won for the previous two years and was again an integral part of the Manchester City team that claimed the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool. City midfielder Phil Foden retained the PFA young player of the year award. ‘It’s a great honour to win a trophy, individual or collective, and this one is big so I’m very happy and very proud of that,’ said Salah, who had already won the Football Writers’ gong. Chelsea’s Sam Kerr collected the women’s award, with Manchester City forward Lauren Hemp voted young player of the year for a third consecutive season.
