Torn in two

-

I WAS born and educated in Scotland. My dad is from Leicestershire and my feisty 94-year-old mum is Scottish, from a Sutherland clan going back countless generations. I’d love to see a border guard ask her for a passport to enter the land of her birth. The video clip would go viral.

I now live in England but I’m British and Scottish – and furious I won’t get a vote in the proposed referendum, while arrivals from other countries will, even if they have only lived in Scotland a few months. CLAIRE MAPLETHORPE, Bridgnorth, Salop.
