■ JADESTONE Energy surged after it restarted production at its Montara oilfield off the coast of Northern Australia.

Production had been stopped last month due to a leak in one of the oil storage tanks.

But Jadestone announced activity had resumed at the site on Sunday, ‘significantly’ ahead of schedule, following a temporary repair. Work on a permanent fix, as well as a full inspection, is expected to start within days.

Shares jumped 6.8pc, or 5.5p, to 86.5p.
