Tough on Remainers
GOVERNMENT ministers dictate what is to happen and unelected, professional civil servants implement it, whether they like it or not. That’s the theory.
If I were a Government minister and my senior civil servants were effectively refusing to do my bidding because they were Remainers at heart, I would give them one strongly worded chance to change tack.
If that didn’t work, the next time they spoke as employees would be to ask whether people wanted fries with their burgers.
