GIO TARGETS LAWRENCE

-

potentially worth £10m — and the Rangers boss hopes to use some of that money to win the battle for Welsh international Lawrence, 28, who is also a target for Championship duo West Brom and Sheffield United. Meanwhile, Van Bronckhorst insists new arrival Colak will add quality to the Rangers attack. The 28-year-old will join his new team-mates at their training camp in Portugal after becoming the Dutchman’s first summer signing. He caught the eye during a loan spell with Malmo, scoring both goals when the ten-man Swedes eliminated Rangers from last season’s Champions League. ‘He’s shown in the teams he’s played for that he can score goals,’ said Van Bronckhorst. ‘He is a very good striker. ‘He did us a lot of damage last season, which also showed his quality. ‘We wanted to add some more players to our attacking options, and Colak will give us a lot of strength up front.’ Colak, who made his international debut for Croatia against Turkey in November 2020, said after signing his deal: ‘I am really, really happy to sign for Rangers. ‘I have played in front of those incredible fans already, and now I want to experience what it is like to be a part of this huge club, to win titles and to achieve every target the club has. I want to be a part of this big family.’
