How will the app work?

THE NHS Scotland app is still in development, but it is likely to be similar to that currently being rolled out in England.

That means patients, once registered, will be able to order repeat prescriptions, view their GP health record securely, and manage any referrals to a specialist.

Patients may also be able to message their doctor online, get advice from the NHS website, and choose whether their data is used in research.
