LEAGUE ONE
FC EDINBURGH made a real statement of intent with a 2-0 away win against the Kelty Hearts side who beat them to the League Two title last term. John Robertson and Ouzy See were the scorers at New Central Park as both sides had mixed fortunes on their first game in the League One campaign. Edinburgh boss Alan Maybury said: ‘This was always going to be tricky but we’ve shown that we are here to compete and we will be competitive this season.’ Kelty boss John Potter said of the opening-day defeat: ‘It’s a difficult one to take.’
