Van Bronckhorst tells Morelos he still has a future at Rangers ahead of talks

-

Van Bronckhorst. ‘I sat down with him before we went to Eindhoven. I said also in a press conference that if Alfredo wants to come back, he needs to do things differently. ‘That’s what he’s doing at the moment so, for me, it’s just a case of sitting with him in the next days and talking with him about his future. But he still has a future with us. He is still a Rangers player. ‘As a manager, I want to make sure I will get him back to the levels we need and I know he can be. ‘I spoke with him briefly today. But we will have a longer sitdown in the coming days.’ Drawn in Group A alongside Liverpool, Ajax and Napoli, Rangers will bank around £30million from their Champions League comeback. That income could yet be used to strengthen the squad ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline, but Van Bronckhorst stressed he was pleased with the quality already at his disposal. ‘We reached our goal to go into the group stages and I think that’s a huge compliment to my squad,’ said the Dutchman. ‘Of course, if we can add something, some quality to the squad, and we think it’s good to add then we will. But I am really happy with the squad we have at the moment.’ Glen Kamara will sit out the Ross County match to rest a minor knee issue, while Van Bronckhorst also revealed a longer absence for Alex Lowry. The 19-year-old midfielder was carried off in a B-team match earlier this week after a challenge from Dumbarton’s Ally Love. ‘Alex is not available,’ added Van Bronckhorst, who said Kemar Roofe and John Souttar were still not able to join training. ‘I think he will be out for some weeks. ‘Glen Kamara has just had some discomfort. It was a very physical game on Wednesday, so I think it’s better for Glen not to be involved tomorrow and, hopefully, be available again next week.’
