KILLIE IN KYLE PROBE
KILMARNOCK have launched an investigation after a video emerged online appearing to show striker Kyle Lafferty using sectarian language towards a Celtic fan. The former Hearts and Rangers player (right) posed for a picture with a man in a bar who shouted ‘up the Celts’. Lafferty, 35, then appeared to shout a sectarian insult in response. Confirming they are aware of the video, Kilmarnock have reiterated their stance on discriminatory behaviour and launched an investigation. A statement on the club’s website read: ‘Kilmarnock Football Club are aware of a video circulating online which appears to show a member of our playing staff using language of a sectarian nature. ‘The club finds all forms of discriminatory behaviour completely unacceptable. ‘The matter will be investigated by the club.’ Currently on international duty with Northern Ireland for games against Kosovo and Greece, Lafferty signed a one-year contract extension at Rugby Park in May.
