Now Beckham son’s new bride claims VICTORIA pulled plug despite saying she would design the wedding dress

SHE has remained tight-lipped despite rumours of frosty relations with her daughter-in-law.

But Victoria Beckham may struggle to stay silent after Nicola Peltz Beckham claimed she had wanted her mother-inlaw to design her wedding dress – but the plans were shot down.

Miss Peltz, 27, wore a couture Valentino gown for her star-studded wedding to Brooklyn Beckham in April rather than one of her mother-in-law’s designs.

The decision sparked rumours of a rift between the pair with Miss Peltz notably absent from the Beckhams’ family holiday to Europe months later.

Now Miss Peltz has claimed that she had been in talks to wear one of her mother-inlaw’s designs but the plans were scrapped because Mrs Beckham’s atelier ‘couldn’t make it’.

The US actress told Grazia US: ‘I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress and I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story.’

The heiress, whose father is billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, said her close friend Leslie Fremar and mother Claudia were also helping to design the gown.

However, after the four ‘connected to start designing the dress’, Miss Peltz said: ‘A few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. [Then] Victoria called my mum and said her atelier couldn’t make it. So, I spoke to my mum and Leslie, and I was like, “Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?”

‘I’ve been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress. That’s really what happened.’

Miss Peltz – who didn’t wear a single item designed by her mother-inlaw during the three-day celebrations – said she was ‘hurt’ by claims that she never planned to wear one of Mrs Beckham’s dresses. Previous reports have alleged that she’d had no intention of working with the mother of four as she knew designers who were ‘actually talented’.

Brooklyn, 23, who is the eldest of Mrs Beckham’s three sons, added: ‘To be honest, my wife is obviously my first priority and I never want to see her upset ever. When people do say ridiculous things, we just talk about it and we just move on. We have each other’s back 100 per cent and we just move on together.’

The newlyweds met in 2019 before getting engaged less than a year later – with Miss Peltz announcing the news on Instagram in a canary yellow Victoria Beckham dress.

Later that year, Mrs Beckham, 48, described her son’s then fiancee as a ‘lovely, warm, wonderful, wonderful woman’, adding: ‘We couldn’t have asked for Brooklyn to meet a more adorable, lovely lady. We are very happy. We love her. He’s so happy.’ However, since the wedding in Florida, relations appear to have cooled between the pair. They have spent time together only once on a night out in Italy in July.

In the same month, the Daily Mail revealed that Miss Peltz and Mrs

Beckham – who have a combined Instagram following of 57 million – have stopped liking each other’s posts on social media.

Meanwhile Brooklyn appears to have grown closer to Miss Peltz’s family, spending several weeks on their yacht with them this summer.

A source told The Sun that Mrs Beckham is ‘utterly seething’ after the recent interview, adding: ‘Brooklyn is a super-sweet kid but his relationship with his parents is changing. The other problem is Nicola’s family, who are super tight-knit and pretty controlling. It was never exactly a meeting of minds between the Peltzes and Beckhams, and things have gotten worse of late.’

The source added: ‘Victoria is bemused as to why [Miss Peltz] keeps stoking the rumours of a feud... David and Victoria would love to spend more time with their son and his wife.’

Mrs Beckham seemed unfazed by the rumours as she stepped out for dinner in a £3,000 Saint Laurent dress at celebrity hotspot Harry’s in London on Thursday.

Representatives for Mrs Beckham declined to comment on the most recent claims.

‘This can’t happen... what’s next step?’
