FROM a slew of producers behind Breaking Bad comes another powerful show about a seemingly good man sucked ever deeper into a world of crime and violence. The always impressive Michael Chiklis (pictured — who won an Emmy for his performance as Detective Vic Mackey in police corruption drama The Shield) plays Ben Clemens, a former agent of the U.S. Border Patrol who has been forced to accept mandatory retirement after 32 years of proudly wearing the uniform. When a terrified young girl — who’s a similar age to his own daughter — begs for Clemens’s help, he reluctantly uses his insider knowledge to help her to escape Mexico and enter the U.S. In so doing, Clemens begins a journey that leads to him getting involved with ruthless Mexican cartels, and places his estranged family in mortal danger, while leaving him questioning everything he had once believed. Over the course of six sweaty, uncompromising and exciting episodes, Coyote takes its lead character and its audience into some very dark places indeed.
